Love Notes

Based on Amos 1:1-3:15, Psalm 141:1-4, Proverbs 29:25, Revelation 3:1-22.

Thank You, GOD Most High, who has written on us Your Name and caused us to persevere and to overcome as the houses of ivory perish and the great houses have an end. We are alive in Christ, strengthened for the things that remain by Your Holy Spirit indwelling us and increasing in us as we will allow. So we watch, we fast, we repent, knowing we shall walk with You in white, for You have made us worthy. You will not blot out our names from the Book of Life, as we confess Christ before You, Father and Your angels in heaven.

Because of Christ, You have a new name written on us who belong to Him: MINE. We cling to Your promise that whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe. Thus we are zealous and repent continually, listening for Your voice and following Your leading as You dine with us, and we with You. We overcome as You also overcame, knowing that he who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments and written indelibly and irreversibly in Your Book of Life.

Thank You for giving us ears to hear what the Spirit says to the church Christ birthed --Your people, gathered in Him who is the Head, who sits at Your right hand as do we in HIm. Thank You for revealing Your secret when we cried out to You in utter need, when we realized that we were destitute, blind, and naked -- without help, without hope. You heard our cries and came to us, walked right into our broken hearts, and You dined with us and counseled us gently, sweetly. calmly. You pointed to gold that is refined in Your fire, and to white garments that would cover our shame. And You anointed our eyes to see the secret You revealed.

Daily now, we stand at the open door receiving manna and mercy from You, O GOD -- Your bread, broken  for us; Your blood, poured out. Hand-fed, up close and personal... how can we ever thank You enough?

Because You live, we trust in You. We remember it was You who brought Your people up from the land of Egypt and led them through forty years in the wilderness. We know that our prayers are set before You as incense, fragrant to Your nostrils. Help us appropriate that knowledge deep in our hearts: that You will keep us from the hour of trial that shall come upon the whole world.

Gratefully, we hold fast to what You have imparted to us: that You have made us overcomers,  pillars in Your temple, O GOD, a people on whom You have written Your name: MINE.
