Contemporary Psalms

12-16-13

Behold the days are coming, says the LORD...
Amos 8:11

God on high, Holy Triune God, You know! You have already told us, and You told us way, way, way ahead of time. And so we sing and pray and sing and pray, wandering now  in a famine of the earth -- not a famine of bread, but a famine of Your Word, the Bread of Life. We are running to and fro, seeking truth but saying "Whatever" to every which-way we encounter. Relativism and relativists abound, oh God, deflecting and twisting Your Truth into political correctness, which is the most ferocious form of people-pleasing I have ever encountered.

According to Your Word, the relativists shall fall, never to rise again. In Amos, You say that " he who flees shall not get away, and he who escapes shall not be delivered... that though they hide from Your sight at the the bottom of the sea, from there You will command the serpent and it shall bite them." Merciful God! You know they do not know what they are doing! Only You can lift the blindfolds to reveal what they need to see in the spiritual realm, in the SUPERnatural. You know this is unseeable by the use of merely human faculties, such as natural, human eyes.

Merciful God! You know they hate Your Light because they are still in the darkness, not yet retrieved, not yet reborn by Your Holy Spirit. How can they see unless You lift their blindfolds? How can they hear unless You unstop their ears? How can they repent and return unless You bring them into Your arms and plant them into Your Body that they shall no longer be pulled up or thrown like tares into the fire.

The thing I wish for you, my child, is a little misfortune ( Thackeray).

For those who dwell in darkness, my spirit is overwhelmed within me, and my heart is distressed. But in Your Spirit, I rest assured that You are on it. You have placed these desires on my heart, and You have kneaded them deeply into my heart. Therefore, I stand on Your promise to grant the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). It is You who put them there in the first place. And so, if I am pray in faith belieiving, who am I to doubt it will come to pass? You say in 2 Corinthians 1:20 that Your answer in Heaven is YES and AMEN.

My job is to pray in faith, believing You, believing that You do not lie, and that You are not a "gotcha" God. Others are, but not You. We pray like little children, asking for our beloveds who do not know to ask for themselves. Bring them back, oh Father, to be gathered into Your Son to glorify Him forever with praises and thanksgivings and adorations until the hills flow forth with it and the whole earth drips with sweetness.

"I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land
I have given them, says the LORD."
Amos 9:15

Mighty and Majestic Father, Manifest Most Merciful Son, Myriad in Your Proceeding by  the Holy Spirit, oh Holy and Triune God, may our prayers resound! Sift us as grain is sifted, so not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground. Raise us up! Repair the damages! Return to reign in every heart! We sing and pray and sijng and pray from the bottom of our feet to the tops of our heads -- seeking "Majesty Manifesting Myriadly"  and believing that the time may be near. And so we sing... Come, LORD Jesus, be borne...
