Contemporary Psalms

11-23-13

Not, as though I had already attained, or am already perfected, but I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of
the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14

God on high, You have told us: there shall be a time when Gog comes against the land of Israel, and in that day there shall be a great earthquake in Israel, and all men on the face of the earth shall shake. Jerusalem, it seems, is at the epicenter of the earth, oh God, and Israel at the epicenter of Your heart. Therefore, Almighty Father Son and Holy Spirit, we submit to You. In Christ, we resist the devil, who flees from us as we draw near to You -- ever nearer -- as You are drawing ever nearer to us in return. As we cleanse our hands and purify our hearts, we seek to obtain the mind of Christ, to refuse the double-mindedness of friendship with the world, while carrying forth Your Love and Light as we walk upon it. God, Your Spirit in us yearns, pushing each heart upwards like a daffodil bulb, buried in the dirt, seeking the light and the warmth of Your Son. By Your Spirit we are compelled to push ever upwards, through the dirt, drawing nearer and closer to You, pressing in and pressing on. Bring us and our beloveds into the fullness of Your Love and Light, safe in Christ and free at last. And may all Your saints shout for joy.
