Contemporary Psalms

11-20-13

For I will make the land most desolate; her arrogant strength shall cease... because of their abominations which they have committed...
Ezekiel 33:28-29

God on high, we hear You calling, "Do not go to Egypt.... Come out, come out of Babylon..." You weep over the multitudes, warning us that Pharaoh and all pomp will be plundered; Your light will be covered -- all the bright lights of heaven You will make dark over us and bring darkness upon our land. Our arrogant strength shall cease. You have told us, and we are to count it all joy, knowing that our faith will be tested and and purified, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of Your creatures, a tithe of mankind are we who belong to Christ Jesus. We receive with meekness Your implanted Word which has saved our souls, and we thank You, Almighty and Most Merciful Gather, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are rooted in Your abundant waters; we are in Your garden, O God. Bloom in and through us any way You want! We prat that YOU will be glorified and not we ourselves, as we bask in the Sonshine of Your excellent care and tending.
