Contemporary Psalms

9-5-13

I will speak to this people and yet, for all that, they will not hear Me...
1 Corinthians 14:21

God on High, you are saying that You want relationship with us, not religion -- that Your wine has been mixed with water, that our silver is now dross. You say we are a sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers! Our children have forsaken You, O LORD; and even the elect have turned away from You. O God of Hosts, cause us to see and sorrow, forgive us in Your cleansing Blood, for we have turned away backward.

Your country is desolate. You are calling to us, imploring us, saying in Words so clear, "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?" You tell us to bring our futile sacrifices NO MORE. You cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting. Your words, not mine. You desire that we wash ourselves and put away the evil of our doings before Your eyes, that we must cease from doing evil and, instead, learn to do good. O God Most High, how the faithful city has become a harlot! We are as a garden that has no water!

LORD, we know that  those who forsake You will be consumed, O house, O people, beseech God! Bessech Him to teach us His ways, and we shall again walk in His paths. O house, come! Let us walk together in the light of the LORD, for the Day of the LORD of Hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty. We  need Godly sorrow to accept Christ, not only as our Savior, but also to surrender our lives completely to Him as LORD. For the lofty looks of man shall be humbled. The haughtiness of man shall be bowed down and the idols He shall utterly abolish when He arise to shake the earth mightily. Mightily!
