Contemporary Psalms

9-18-13

Whoever is wise will observe these things, and they will understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
Psalm 107:43

Oh Father, what a twisted serpent slithers through our land, setting briers and thorns against You and Your people, who are overcome by deception and, as a result, stumbling in judgment. LORD, all tables are full of vomit and filth; there is no place that is clean! LORD, forgive us, for we have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we are in agreement. Yet You say that hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and water will overflow the hiding places. You will instruct us in right judgment. You will teach us not be mockers, but to hear from You, O God of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. We will understand Your lovingkindness and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. In so doing, Christ is glorified before You, Father, made radiant by the living stones You have placed into His precious Body. Us -- in Him, who is the center of Your Eternal Purpose. We in Him; His Spirit in us, together before Your Throne forever and ever, amen.
