8-12-13

He stretches out his hand against God and acts defiantly against the Almighty, running stubbornly against Him with his strong, embossed shield.

Job 15:25-26

God on High, forgive us in this formerly Godly nation, for we are removing the ancient standard which our fathers had set to live under You. Unwittingly, we are trusting in futile things, deceiving ourselves. Futility will be our reward. Our branches will not be green, and we will shake off unripe grapes like a vine. The company of hypocrites will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.

Father, we have gone so far from Your paths of righteousness! We have conceived trouble, and it is bringing forth futility. Our womb has prepared deceit, and we are starting to bear fruit that is just plain rotten. There is so much trouble and error and deception! It is splayed out before us, LORD! Our hope is in Your assurance that foretold us this would happen. You forewarned us about the de-voltuion we now see before our very eyes. 

You also told us that, nevertheless, "All will be well." Therefore we look to You, LORD, to be our sure defense, our Rock of Refuge. We watch and wait under the ancient standard which You, our Father in Heaven, originally set. Blessed are we to know You are God over all! Blessed are we to know that Your goodness will ultimately prevail !cast off. You, oh LORD our God, shall cast off all wickedness! We thank You for the assurance that we are safe because we are covered by the righteous Blood of Christ. We are like chicks under the wings of a brooding hen. We are under wing!
