[Jehoram] reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and, to no one's sorrow, departed.
2 Chronicles 21:10
Heavenly Father, in Christ we come before You, lifting our nation that has wandered into dire straits, and we imploring You to forgive us, for we knew not what we were doing, and we know not what we do. It is frightening, oh God on High, but You say to us, "Be still and know that I AM God. Be not afraid." Mere moments of hardship will pass over us, but You, oh God, are our Protector and Shield. As we go through this, I pray for eyes to be fixed on You, Lord Jesus, our Savior and LORD of our lives, until the day when at last You come to remove us. Lord, I pray, while cherishing the time that remains, come quickly...
