The Fall (Pun Intended) of 2008

During seven days of fasting and prayer way back in the Fall of 2008, I received a great deal of comfort and  encouragement from our Lord. Below are some of the scriptures that literally JUMPED out at me from my Quiet Times then:

Psalm 114:1-8
The psalm reminded me there were two crossings – when Israel went out of Egypt and then, when they reached the Jordan. We are at the second crossing – the one that leads to The Promised Land. He says the sea fled before Him and that Jordan turned back. He says that Judah became His sanctuary and that Israel became His dominion.  That’s us. He dwells in us.  He says, “Tremble, oh earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.”  We are carrying Him into the midst of the plague like Aaron did.  We are intercessors in whom He dwells!

Ephesians 5:1
Let this sacrifice offering be to You, oh Lord, a sweet-smelling aroma.

Ephesians 5:10
Find out what is acceptable to the Lord.

From Isaiah 57- 58
Fast as you do this day to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free.  Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

The Lord will guide you… and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach. You honor Him, not doing your ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words. But the wicked are like the troubled sea when it cannot rest… There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked.  Lift up your voice like a trumpet…  Fast as you do this day!
