Contemporary Psalms

9-12-13

The only letter I need is you yourselves! They can see that you are a letter from Christ... not one carved on stone, but in human hearts.
2 Corinthians 3:2-3

Thank You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, for Your excellent care and keeping! We are beginning at last to taste and see that tragedy is something in which all the forces make for disaster. Thank You for plucking tragedy from the realm of intellectual appreciation -- for taking it from pages and stages to make it REAL for us, alive and jolting. Thank You for visceral knowledge, teaching our hearts to feel and understand with spiritual senses. Thank You for freeing us to see that "head knowledge is dead knowledge." What a gift it is to behold the unseen! What a miracle it is to be carried from doubt into assent by the Spirit into Fullness of Life. Thank You, God, for the all that Christ accomplished on the Cross and for us, who were each a Doubting Thomas, to see and touch and know that we know Him personally. Thank You for unveiling our blindfolded eyes and for softening our hard hearts. We are no longer temples made of stone, but new wineskins! We pray to be made supple, to offer ourselves to You, made wholly acceptable by the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Christ, our Savior and LORD.
