O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
the one who kills the prophet and stones those who are sent to her!
How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen
gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
See! Your house is left to you desolate: for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!"
Lord, my Lord, You have told us in advance that many would come in Your name, deceiving many; that we would hear of wars and rumors of wars, of nations rising against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms, of famines and pestilences and earthquakes in various places... You have told us! Thank You for telling us -- and also for telling us not to be troubled... for these are the beginning of sorrows. In Your Gracious Mercy and Lovingkindness, Lord, I pray for many to see their need for You at last and turn to You and see You standing their with Your arms wide open and they will cross to safety in You, both now and forever. Amen.
