Contemporary Psalms

3-8-13

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and have Himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

Oh LORD, forgive us for we know not what we do. Help us to discern that we believers, Your saints, are Your Church -- no building is; no organization is; no denomination is; no religion is -- just we, Your beloveds, bought by Your Blood and born by Your Holy Spirit into Fullness of Life in You in Whom we Live and move and have our being.

LORD, we say with our mouths that we live in You and You in us, but we gather in ways that refuse to let You speak. Help us learn to gather to meet with you, not about You! Speak to us, speak through us, one to another, Your edification and encouragement. Compel us to tear down the walls! Be gone, all edifices of our own making! Open our hearts to hear You longing to speak to us, LORD, and speak, please Lord, for Your servants are sinking in leaky boats. Beckon us into the Lifeboat That Does Not Leak And Will Never Sink.

I pray for many to remember Caleb and Joshua encouraging others to enter the Promised Land. Cause us to lay down all our "stuff" and present to You every cell and pore of our little lives, especially our bodies, these little tiny temples for Your Holy Spirit. May we, this day, present whatever things we have constructed (and unwittingly deified) to You, lay them on the altar, and set it all aflame. And may a sweet fragrance arise to please You and make us free at last.
