Recovery in the Bible (RIB)

MATURING AS SAINTS

Now we are seeds, planted into the ground of this world to die and sprout forth new life that will grow and bear fruit and generate more good seed. These stalks must be strong to stand and bear good fruit even in the winds of adversity. If they are weak, they will fall over before they are matured, and the harvest will be lost.

This is why we Christ gathered His disciples mostly in small groups, in tiny groups, to become like family to one another. Under His Headship, we see the Early Church being encouraging, edifying, and sometimes exhorting one another according the Word. The church Christ birthed grew because they gathered like family and they grew strong in close groups, as neighbors, by cities not denominations. As members of Christ's Body, they gathered to let HIm speak through them to one another. Thus they were increased to stand against the storms of life until the fruit and seeds of our lives are fully matured.

The closest I have seen to this is the way we meet in recovery: the Higher Power is in charge.... no mere person leading.... evidence of God spoken through us as if we were His loudspeakers systems.... because we are.
