Love Notes

Based on Daniel 5:1-6:28, Psalm 136:1--26, 2 Peter 2:1-22, Proverbs 29:12-13.

This praise report, just received by telephone, is such excellent news -- and at the very moment when I was reading again about Daniel being thrown to the lions and how You shut their mouths, O GOD and fed those lions later with the lives of the liars. Vengeance is Yours indeed, O GOD, as the fiery furnace obliterated those who threw the three Israelites into the flames; vengeance is Yours upon those who come against Your people, O GOD.

I totally identify with the deliverances You describe in Daniel. For me, it is true that You rescue and perform signs and wonders for those who tremble in awe before You, for those in whom Your Spirit dwells. You have revealed Yourself to be the living GOD, steadfast forever, and Your kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed. 

Thank You, GOD, for giving light to our eyes that we may see that it was You who struck Egypt, who brought Israel out, who divided the Red Sea and made the Israelites pass through it,  who overthrew Pharaoh and his army, who led Israel  through the wilderness, who struck down great kings and slew them and gave their land as heritage to Your servant Israel.

Evidence is abundant that You remember us in our lowly state, engineering our circumstances until we know that You are indeed the Most High GOD, who holds our very breath in Your hand, who owns all our ways. We therefore humble our hearts to glorify You and serve You continually. We gratefully testify that You alone know how to deliver us from temptations and from unjust punishment -- even from those who have forsaken the right way and gone astray. 

Thank You for revealing destructive heresies that deny You, LORD, who bought us by Your finished work on the Cross and by Your victory over eternal loss. Restrain the madness and cause many to see the great swelling words of emptiness that, in You only, we are safe. Thank You for carrying us from the pollutions of the world! Thank You for meeting us in the midst, to grant us personal knowledge of our You in order that we would never again be entangled the corruption and falsehoods that seek to bring us back into bondage.

Thank You, Jesus, our Passover Lamb, our Resurrection! We are Yours, whom You have carried away from this world of woe, though still we live in these earthly tents. Thank You for the freedom from corruption and for Your Power to overcome. Thank You for connecting us to the Throne Room of Heaven -- and to one another!

Divine connections indeed! Precious -- more precious than gold. You are all we need!
