Love Notes

Based on James 3:1-18, Proverbs 29:2-3, Psalm 131:1-3, Ezekiel 35:1-36:38.

LORD, thank You for calming and quieting my heart and soul, for coming to live in me,  assuring me that my hope lies in You, trusting You alone. Thank You for imparting works done in meekness by Your wisdom, the wisdom that is from above -- first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Thank You for transforming me from a peacekeeper into a peacemaker, which is a whole different  thing. For You did not come to keep the peace, but to disturb it.

Therefore, You will scatter and disperse those who have shed blood on the land and who have defiled the land for idols. And ten You will gather and return Your people, sprinkling Your Living Water to cleanse from all filthiness and all idols, giving a new heart and a new spirit, replacing the heart of stone with a softened heart of flesh and feeling. And You will rebuild the ruins! And plant what was desolate! And there will be flocks of men who shall know You personally, as Savior and LORD!

Oh give us ears to hear and the wisdom to follow You, O Tender Shepherd, starting now and never ceasing. We praise You now, like precious gems radiating song and fragrant  praise to glorify You, our Christ, with unimaginable harmony in one accord. A chord!  A chord that cannot be broken...

This painting is by Claudia Wood Rahm, who entitled it Living Stones.
