1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love suffers long and is
kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself; is not puffed up; does not
behave rudely; does not seek its own; is not provoked; thinks no evil; does not
rejoice in iniquity; but rejoices in the truth; bears all things; believes all
things; hopes all things; endures all things.
We see the humor of our
heavenly Father in the way He brings around us the type of people who are to us
what we have been to Him; now He will watch how we behave to them. How did
Jesus treat us? With infinite patience, with amplitude of forgiveness and generosity.
Then He says we are to treat them in the same way. “But if you do not forgive
men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
