Acts 7:30
And when forty years had passed,
an Angel of the Lord appeared to [Moses] in a flame of fire in a bush, in the
wilderness of Mount Sinai.
God sent Moses into the wilderness to
feed sheep for forty years. Think of the enormous leisure of God! We pray, then
we get up and say, “It’s all done now,” and in the light of the vision, we go
forth to do the thing. But it is not real, and God has to take us into the
valley, and He puts us through fires and floods to batter us into shape until
we get into the condition in which He can trust us…
